Say my name say my name

I’ve always thought that the meaning of a name is depicted in the behaviour and character of the bearer of that name. Amina means trustworthy and honest and I like to believe I’m working on these traits. No but really, don’t you think this is why parents decide very carefully while choosing names for their children, because at the back of their minds they have an idea of the character they want that child to have?
Do you get this feeling that after finding out the meaning of your name you try to acquire those attributes to almost make sense of it and to justify why you have that name? I do. So if you could change your name to another what would it be?
For a Nigerian woman who’s name is Amina it is not uncommon that once in a while when you introduce yourself to an individual, the person makes reference to Queen Amina of Zaria, who was a northern Nigerian warrior, so here’s my perception of her…
Queen Amina of Zaria, inherent conqueror
Queen Amina of Zaria, undefeated warrior
Queen Amina of Zaria, in the preservation of history, necessary
Queen Amina of Zaria, referred to as legendary
Queen Amina of Zaria, her aura is graceful
Queen Amina of Zaria, her entire being is beautiful
Queen Amina of Zaria, without whom culture is incomplete
Queen Amina of Zaria, with whom no one can compete
Queen Amina of Zaria, symbol of civilisation
Queen Amina of Zaria, God’s unshakable creation
Queen Amina of Zaria, an embodiment of striking melanin
Queen Amina of Zaria, one of the greatest women this world has ever seen
Queen Amina of Zaria, leader of war
Queen Amina of Zaria, who’s achievements cannot be outdone
Queen Amina of Zaria, representation of the strength of womanhood
Queen Amina of Zaria, a force man never really understood
Queen Amina of Zaria, queen of kings
Queen Amina of Zaria, she reigns supreme.
“ Amina, daughter of Nikatau, a woman as capable as a man”.
