She. Her. Woman.

During women’s day I saw a lot of posts that praised the strength of womanhood and the importance of even a single woman. I don’t think I have come across a woman who wishes to be a man. We give life, we have infinite strength and we are just unstoppable and ever growing. I like that there are women chasing their dreams, going for what they want, coming for everything they said we couldn’t have. Because we could. Girls are getting educated and going after their dreams- politicians, mathematicians, lawyers, designers, pilots, astronauts, economists and the list goes on. It is true that there is a sense of rivalry but that isn’t needed, the competition isn’t necessary because we would definitely accomplish much more when we are united. There is enough room to succeed and quite frankly, no person will miss what is for them, so we need to help each other accomplish our goals and dominate together. Black panther couldn’t have come at a better time because we saw the depiction of female strength, we saw how beautiful they are don’t get me wrong but for me it was more on the concentration of how strong and vital we are as oppose to portraying women as pretty and controllable. The king had an all female army, the dora milaje, inspired by the dahomey amazons, once considered the most feared women in the world. I believe he won his battle because of the female support he had- his mother, sister and the army. I love how women are represented in various fields. It allows girls to believe they can achieve their goals knowing that it is okay to do so because someone who looks like them and who has been given the treatment of a second-class citizen did so. She has taken back her power and controlled her destiny because she knows she is capable and is worth way more than they tell her she is. Ladies, change the game.
