What's the norm?

Is fashion really a way of expressing yourself without words? I ask this because with the way fashion is seen nowadays you wouldn’t think its a means of expressing your unique identity rather as a sort of "uniform" look of social approval and acceptance. There's this elephant in the room about people’s styles not being what the “norm” is, like we expect each other to wear certain brands or certain types of clothes or even down to how to style them. So what is the point of individuality if I’m supposed to dress exactly like the next girl to be seen as cool and worthy? Even attitude is expected to be a certain way to be seen as cool. I think we all need to calm down and accept people’s uniqueness as shown in their style and attitude, we need to stop telling them to tone it down because it can be interpreted as telling them to conform to the norm of a “chill” attitude. If she’s hella extra then let her be extra, damn! Uniqueness breeds creativity, which if encouraged, will have a positive impact on the world because different opinions and mindsets will definitely mean evolution and development. If every one is the same the world will be boring and I don’t know about you but life is short, so we might as well be extra unique and live in a colourful circus.
